Carved into a hillside site with a spectacular 180 degree view of four mountain ranges, the Crescent House celebrates the blending of contemporary organic form & space with traditional Santa Fe style into a home that is a breathtaking integration of old and new.
With its roots in ancient Pueblo architecture, this circular gem features gently curved walls of adobe, indigenous native materials, natural stone, and a host of quality finishes including an elevator and a cast bronze staircase. A drive-through circular port-cochere circles the guest house - a kiva-like enclave that is the perfect accompaniment to this award-winning home for Green Design.
Experience the Crescent House: the geometry of a Kiva "gem" set in a crescent adobe form (carved into the solid-rock hillside terrain) on a spectacular view lot – adjacent to the Frank Lloyd Wright Pottery House. The design is anchored by the circular Kiva (guest house/studio) which is encircled by the open drive-through port-cochere and driveway. Exposed steel joists radiate from the center of the Kiva as do the vigas of the main house.
You are welcomed by massive wooden steps leading up to the roof-top deck. Ascend the sculpted bronze staircase embedded in exposed bedrock or choose to be "beamed-up" in the futuristic pneumatic elevator made of clear Lexan!
Inside, you'll discover the crescent-shaped great room, sunny gourmet kitchen, walk-through shower, and master bath therapy tub.
